Varietal: 100% Chardonnay

Vineyard Location: Upper Shore of Mendoza River (Maipú)

Soil Type: The soils are alluvial with a sandy soil loam texture. They are characterized by the presence of boulders at different depth.

Winemaking: Manual selection of clusters and transportation in bins. Reception and destemming Cold maceration for 24 hours. Alternated operations of extraction, pumping-over, delestage and pressing for 9 to 12 days at controlled temperature. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Natural malolactic fermentation. Stabilisation, filtration and bottling.

TASTING NOTES: This Chardonnay shows a beautiful golden-yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose it expresses a wide aromatic range, with tropical fruit and citrus notes. The palate is very fresh with good acid balance and a long finish. Perfect to drink with grilled chicken and other white meats. Alcohol 12 - 13.5%

Argentine winemaking pioneers Juan Giol and Bautista Gargantini built their winery La Colina de Oro winery in the town of Maipú, Mendoza. By 1910 it had become the largest winery in the world. That same year a distinguished guest at the international exhibition in Buenos Aires celebrating the 100th anniversary of Argentina’s independence, the Infanta Isabela of Spain, recognized the partners’ accomplishments with a special gold medallion. Thus Canciller was born. Spanish for chancellor, Canciller has long been considered a noble ambassador for Argentine winemaking. The infanta’s medal can still be found on every bottle of Canciller to this day.
