Abate Family wines

generations of respect for nature and wine

Through generations, we have grown a profound bond of love and respect for nature. The years go by, but from grandparents to grandchildren, the message remains strong and clearly carved in our hearts: “Nature follows its own time, show your respect, be kind” Angelo and Adriano dedicated their life to agriculture. Sergio, Angelo’s son, followed his father’s footsteps, and over the years, he refined the technique of growing vines. He decided to plant a vineyard in the Tiracollo area, followed by another in Centenario in the Fenil boi/Ca’Nova area. But only with the arrival of the two sons Stefano e Marco, supporting the agricultural activity, the family decided to resume the bottling of our grapes, which were previously sold to third parties. Here originates Abate wine, a project that tells about the love and respect for nature that we have lived for generations.

in the Vineyard since 1920

The stories of the first grapes grown by the abate family date back to a century ago. Four varieties of vines, 843mm of annual rain, and a medium temperature of 15 degrees. The abate family vineyards are located to the south of Lake Garda, where Moraine hills tell the story of the glacier that covered the lake thousands of years ago. Thanks to the glacier flow, this picturesque landscape forms together with the lake, the ideal microclimate for viticulture. Our vineyards Fenil Boi and Tiracollo, are cultivated with passion through generations.

The story behind the label

The label design is an intentionally sensory experience, made to inspire emotion transmitted with elegance by signs and spaces developed by four different effects. These four levels represent the people of the Abate family: from the father, the charismatic man who loved the land, to the two indigenous and extroverted brothers, and up to the small Athena, the granddaughter, represented by the smallest letter on the label. This label not only has four different levels but four completely different typefaces retextured according to the elements that distinguish the family’s vineyards: the earth, one of the most extreme and ancient elements, the stones that surround the entrance and act as boundaries to the wine estate, and the vineyards and, of course, the precious grapes. Abate wines present a luxurious experience before even opening the bottle.
